Aspirants jostling for elective political offices in the Ibadan South West Local Government have issued a warning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders in the two constituencies that make up the council not to go ahead with their plans of imposing candidates on the people, as it can negatively affect the fortune of the party in the forthcoming elections.

This was contained in a release made available to journalists and jointly signed by all the interested aspirants and made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The aspirants, however, disclosed that all the aspirants have agreed to go to the field for all of them to test their popularity through primaries and not the purported consensus been planned by some leaders of the party.

The aspirants then called on the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde as a matter of urgency call on the concerned leaders not to destroy the party by imposing candidates on the people.

“Be it known that we never agreed to a consensus arrangement as being rumoured in Ibadan Southwest local government constituency 1 and 2.”
