The world’s richest footballer, Faiq Bolkiah, is worth 15 times more than Cristiano Ronaldo. This is despite his mega-money move to the Saudi Arabian league.
The move came following the Portuguese legend’s premature exit from Manchester United.
Prior to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 37-year-old gave a stunning interview in which he discussed his time at Old Trafford, slamming the owners and managers Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick.
After signing for Al Nassr, the ex-Real Madrid forward is set for a new journey in the Middle East.
The staggering transfer will see the 37-year-old earn £173m annually across image rights and commercial deals.
His wages alone amount to £62m a year,, and the deal leaves Ronaldo as the highest-paid sportsperson ever.
However, former Arsenal youth star Faiq Bolkiah, still has far more money than Ronaldo, according to dailystar.co.uk.
Bolkiah is a member of the Brunei Royal Family and is one of the heirs of the country’s leader, Hassanal Bolkiah, and his £13bn fortune.
Despite outstripping Ronaldo’s wages, Bolkiah has not come close to matching the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s achievements on the pitch.
Bolkiah, who signed with Leicester City in 2015 but failed to cut, is currently playing in Thailand.
