The first annual general meeting of the Otito-Inu (non-interest) Muslim Cooperative Investment and Credit Society will continue to linger in the memory of society members, owing to the large number of Islamic scholars who attended the event.
The event held on Wednesday, 25th of January, 2023, at Trans Amusement Park, Sango, UI Road, Ibadan, will forever remain indelible in the minds of those who attended the event.
It was a glamorous event where all the branches from southwest states came together to celebrate the first annual general meeting in a grand style. About forty people attended, having jolly moments with each other for coming together to witness the event. In contrast, the total zones of the union are 1,016,000.
The popular radio presenter anchored the event, Alhaji Gboyega Lawal and music was supplied by one of the union members, Akingbade and his Islamic band.
After the arrival of the president and the governor of the union, Alhaji Ibrahim Adetokun Adekeye and Abdul Rahman Abiola Mustapha (aka Zico), respectively, the anthem of the society was recited. It was a joyful moment for the members to welcome their president and the governor expressing themselves through dancing.
Also, the presence of Chief Imam Ibadan, Abdul Ganiyu Abubakar (Agbotomokekere).
The opening prayer was done by Chief Imam Ibadan, Abdul Ganiyu Abubakar (Agbotomokekere), while reading from the holy Quran was performed by Alhaji Alli Abdulrasheed and Usman Kareem.
Thereafter, the arrival of Muideen Ajani Bello, Oniwasi Agbaye, was performed majestically with his entourage, followed by the president and governor’s welcome address.
The president prayed for the union and praised the chief Imam Ibadan, who supported the Otito-Inu Muslim investment cooperative and credit society. And also extended his greetings to the executive governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde, and all the members across Nigeria.
The Lecture was delivered by Alhaji Muideen Ajani Bello, who charged the members that being truthful would be the best option among the members of the union, if the members can establish a good hospital, there would be no need for University College Hospital, Ibadan.
Ajani Bello continued, “loans must be returned as at when due. He then urged the members to borrow money for resourceful purposes. Humanitarians should be their watchword and pray for the union as a whole.
Mrs Bolatito Owolabi, who responded to the Journalists by expressing her joy on the first annual general anniversary, how God has been the pillar of the union till this moment, and for giving them the grace to sustain members of the union.
At the fundraising, which was performed by Oniwasu Agbaye, Muideen Ajani Bello, the invited guests donated handsomely. Alhaja Azeezat Alayande, Osun state donated Two Hundred Thousand Naira, Ekiti state donated a hundred thousand naira, Ondo State donated a hundred and fifty thousand respectfully.
Meanwhile, the inauguration of the new executives, particularly Otito-Inu Muslim investment cooperative and credit society governor, of the union, Alhaji AbdulRahman Abiola Mustapha. (A.k.a zico) sworn in the new executive members, who promised to work diligently and serve Otito-Inu in love and truth.
Prayer led by Alhaji Muideen Ajani Bello.
The members of the union were excited, and they used different dancing styles.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include the Oyo State Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale, founder and president general, Otito Inu Muslim Cooperative and Credit Society; Alhaji Ibrahim Adetokun Adekeye, Governor General, Otito Inu Cooperative and Credit Society, Abdul Rahman Abiola Mustapha, aka Zico, and host of others.
