Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, has lauded Oyo State residents for the massive turnout and love extended to him.
Tinubu met a massive crowd waiting at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan around 6.00 p.m.
The presidential candidate, who acknowledged cheers from the tumultuous crowd, presented Senator Teslim Folarin as the party’s governorship candidate.
Tinubu, supported by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, and the Acting Coordinator, APC Presidential Campaign Council in South Western States handed over the party’s flag to Folarin.
Tinubu was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Sunday Dare, Minister of Sports, and Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information.
Others are Chief Bisi Akande, former Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, former Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
Tinubu arrived at Alakia airport in Ibadan at exactly 2.30 p.m., accompanied by prominent APC leaders.
The APC candidate had visited Gov. Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office and later proceeded to the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, for a closed-door meeting with Yoruba traditional rulers.
The meeting, which was presided by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, was held at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan (UI).
It attracted Orangun of Oke Ila Oba Adedokun Abolarinwa; Olugbo of Ugbo Oba Fedric Akinruntan; Osimawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo; Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Olusola Alao and Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola among others.
At the end of the meeting, the Director General of Conscience of Yoruba Nation, Abagun Kole Omololu, issued a communique stating that the royal fathers expressed satisfaction with Tinubu’s briefings on his aspirations. The communique acknowledged Tinubu’s solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to enshrining democracy in Nigeria.
Asiwaju then proceeded to Mapo Hall where he finally raised the hand of the party’s gubernatorial candidate and handed over the party’s flag to him.
Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State, said that Tinubu was loved by the people.
He said the crowd witnessed at the rally was an attestation that Tinubu would get massive votes in Oyo State.
Olaosebikan assured the people of victory for all APC candidates in the general election, pledging total support for Tinubu in the state.
