Hon Adesope Abiodun, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for Ibarapa East State Constituency in the forthcoming Oyo State House of Assembly Election, has stepped down for Hon Adebo Ogundoyin and promised to work for the Speaker’s victory on March 18, 2023.
Hon Adesope Abiodun said this at the end of a meeting with the Speaker and the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa East Local Government.
The LP candidate said all the Labour Party supporters and members in all the units and wards in the constituency will now work with the PDP to ensure the victory of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon Adebo Ogundoyin.
“I am happy to declare my support for Hon Adebo Ogundoyin. And I want to say that the Labour Party, LP in Ibarapa East is ready to support the PDP candidate in the forthcoming election. This is a collective decision. ” Hon Adesope Abiodun stated.
In a related development, the Allied People’s Movement, APM in Ibarapa East Local Government has also endorsed the candidacy of the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin who is re-contesting the Ibarapa East State Constituency seat under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Hon Opeyemi Ayanrinde, the party’s candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the last National Assembly Election, held on February 25, 2023, made the party’s position known.
According to Hon Opeyemi Ayanrinde, politics is a game of interest hence the APM is ready to mobilize its supporters in Eruwa and Lanlate for the victory of Hon Adebo Ogundoyin come next week Saturday.
“We belong to APM and we are not leaving the party but we are declaring our support for the PDP candidate, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin. It is not a crime to show and declare support for a candidate we believe and trust. With this development, myself, all my loyalists, supporters and members of our party, APM across all the 10wards in Ibarapa East State Constituency will work with Hon Adebo Ogundoyin.
“I used to be very close to Hon Ogundoyin but we had some issues and we drifted apart. To God be the glory, we are back together and the bond is even stronger. There is no permanent enemies nor friends in politics. We are in this together now. May the Lord grant him victory in the poll.” Hon Opeyemi Ayanrinde said.
