The founder of Kaka Prominent Band, Ogundare Oluwagbemisoka David, has revealed that Ogowamirin remains his stage name as a gospel musician and praise agent based on the divine instructions of Almighty God.
This was disclosed during an interactive session with journalists in Ibadan on Sunday. He said that his musical career aims to spread the gospel of love, peace, and unity inherent in the Lord Jesus Christ.
According to him, “I have been in the entertainment industry for 29 years and the musical waves blew me from the alter to the street without any regrets. This is why some people believe that I am a secular musician, but the ever-merciful God has a special place for me, which I must obey.
“God appeared to me in my dreams and gave me two names of which I have a choice. Looking at my choices, I decided to accept Ogowamirin because I want His will to prevail over my life and career. However, many people are of the opinion that money comes with fame, especially when dancing to worldly tunes. My music is for God, and God alone.
He added, “Kaka Prominence Band is a group of talented musicians with the sole purpose to entertaining people without regard to religion, class or tribe. My evangelical music is to listen, obey and accept God’s will and plans for my life as a praise agent reminding people of God’s infinite mercy and love for humanity.
“I have promised my Creator that I am spreading His gospel with my talents as a musician to enhance, teach and spread God’s words by singing to God’s people. I can boldly say that God re-arrested me to do His will with music, and I must not fail him”.
