Immediately after Abba Kabir’s swearing-in as the new governor of the North-West state on Monday, the stage where his inauguration as Kano State governor was taking place collapsed.
At the time of the incident at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, the Governor, his deputy, and the acting chief judge were all seated at the podium.
The podium was seen to have collapsed as a result of some adolescents scaling its rooftop.
However, it was determined that the governor and his deputy were secure.
Kabir, a supporter of NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, replaced All Progressives Congress (APC) contender Abdullahi Ganduje.
