According to a source with the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at least eight ministers who worked under former President Muhammadu Buhari have been invited due to suspicions of potential corruption, DailyTrust.
It was discovered that the invitation letters asked the former top government officials to appear and discuss how they used monies allotted to their ministries on specific projects while they were in charge at their respective posts.
Before Abdulrasheed Bawa’s resignation as head of the committee, the letters, it was learned, were sent to the former ministers.
Several sources within the commission said that the anti-graft agency had started an investigation.
Under the condition of anonymity, the source added that Dingyadi will respond to claims that he had bought used cars for the Nigerian Police and passed them off as brand-new.
“Well, I’m not aware of the letter, I’ve not seen it.” The minister of police affairs, Dingyadi, said to one of our correspondents over the phone, “Perhaps they submitted it to the office; I will inquire from the office.”
