Hon. Ado Wakili, a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly who represented the Burra Constituency, has passed away.
Three days before his term in the 9th Bauchi Assembly was set to expire, the member passed away.
He had failed in his attempt to win re-election to the House after losing the State Assembly election on March 18.
In a statement announcing his passing, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, expressed shock at the tragic information.
In the “Honourable House,” Wakili was referred to as his brother, a dependable coworker, and an elder statesman who was regarded as a father figure for everyone.
The Speaker continued by stating that Hon. Wakili, despite his advanced age, treated everyone with respect and was a man of tremendous integrity, humility, and humour.
”We lost a father, colleague and great partner at a time when his Constituency, the Honourable House and the State need his fatherly contributions the most.
“On behalf of the Honourable Members and staff of the House, I send my deep condolences to his family, the good people of Burra Constituency and Ningi Local Government Area. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” he said.
The announcement further stated that the late member’s funeral prayers will be held at Gwallaga Juma’ah Mosque in Bauchi at 1:30 pm on Friday.
