Chioma Opara, a brilliant 16-year-old Nigerian lady, has won 340,000 dollars worth of scholarships to two universities abroad.
This is because she recorded an exceptional feat by scoring 9As in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and 345 in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Opara, an Imo state indigene, was awarded scholarships to universities in Canada and the United States after resounding performances in her exams. She is the last of four children of her parents.
“She has always been an extraordinarily brilliant student, right from a young age,” the State Post reports.
Chioma was enrolled in high school at the age of 8, according to the report. According to the State Post, she won every award, position, and certificate associated with the internal and external examinations she took part in.
Chioma sat for the Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC) organized by the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges. ANMC is a 21st-century educational hub focusing on primary and secondary education development, using Nigerian and British curricula.
In 2016, Nigerian Turkish International College (NTIC) granted her a scholarship to enroll in the girls’ section, beginning a new chapter for her academic success.
While at NTIC, Chioma participated in local and international competitions and won awards in most of them. She graduated at the top of her class at the institution with several medals and awards in the 2022–2023 academic session.
