On his 65th posthumous birthday, Paris Jackson, the famed entertainer’s daughter, paid tribute to her late father, Michael Jackson.

The singer, who followed in Michael Jackson’s footsteps in the music industry, celebrated her father’s birthday on Wednesday by posting a video on her Instagram stories.

The “Thriller” singer disliked “anybody acknowledging his birthday” when he was still alive, according to her. But because social media has taken over as the main way that “people express their love and affection these days,” she made a video wishing him a happy birthday.

My father’s birthday is today, and back when he was alive, he used to loathe anyone mentioning it, wishing him a “Happy Birthday,” celebrating it, or doing anything else.

“He actually didn’t want us to even know when his birthday was, because he didn’t want us to throw a party or anything like that,” Paris said in the video.

The model went on to say that she had previously received threats of death from irrational fans for failing to post tributes to the late King of Pop on his birthday after his passing.

“People often lose their f**king heads when I don’t post anything for my dad’s birthday,” she continued. “They advise me to commit suicide. And they essentially use what I post on Instagram to gauge how much I love my own father. I hope you like the short video I prepared for you all.”

Paris addressed Jackson’s impact on her career during her Colorado concert on Tuesday.

“It’s also my dad’s birthday today. He would have been 65 years old, and he dedicated 50 years of his life to his work so that I could stand up here in front of you and shout into a microphone. I therefore owe him everything.”

She also urged Jackson’s ardent admirers to honour the great by donating their fair share to topics he was passionate about, like climate change, environmental activism, and animal rights.

When her father passed away in June 2009 after a cardiac arrest, Paris was 11 years old. She was the only child Harry and his second wife, Debbie Rowe, had together.
