All is now set for the staff of the National Archives, Ibadan Zonal Office, to celebrate their boss and Deputy Director, Mrs. Medinat Funmilayo Agunbiade, who is going on retirement on November 23, 2023.
The disclosure was made by Mrs. Taiwo Omolola Adeoye, the head of the event committee and acting deputy director.
According to her, the ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2023, at the Ibadan National Archives Zonal Office inside the University of Ibadan. The time is noon.
Adeoye added that dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include the celebrant and members of her family, former heads of the Ibadan National Archives, former and present staff of the Ibadan National Archives, and friends and well-wishers.
Agunbiade Medinat Fumilayo was born on November 23, 1963.
She attended LSMB Primary School, Pakata, Ilorin, between 1970 and 1976. She proceeded to Ajase Ipo Comprehensive High School, Ilorin, Kwara State, from 1978 to 1983 and A levels at Kwara State Polytechnic from 1983 to 1985.
Thereafter, she proceeded to the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, where she bagged her first degree between 1987 and 1990 and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) in 2010.
During her NYSC, Agunbiade Medinat Fumilayo won the Best Youth Corper in Oyo State in 1990 and the NYSC Presidential State Award. This laudable performance gave her automatic employment as Archivist II in January 1993 at the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture (National Archives) in Ilorin.
Later, she was posted to the National Archives in Ibadan as the Zonal Director.
Medinat Fumilayo Agunbiade was employed as Archivist II and rose to her present post of Deputy Director in the Federal Civil Service where she would be retiring.
