YGL Events and Conference Centre at Oke IIa, in the historical city of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, was filled to the brim with prominent Nigerians, including traditional rulers, captains of industries, academia, and the crème de la crème of society, to witness the much anticipated holy matrimony between Oluwakemi and Owokunle.
The event kicked off at Summit Resorts, Housing Road, with a make-up and grand photo shoot, followed by the traditional wedding anchored by Oluwakemi Familusi, popularly called QueenNEM Communication.
The groom and bride’s families were ushered to the event hall with prayers from the bride and bridegroom families, coordinated by Pastor Olofin as the proposal letter was launched and read by Oluwayomi, as guests savoured the thrills and allure of traditional wedding
The grand finale of the event on Saturday, November 18, 2023, was electrifying shortly after the church wedding at the Gospel Faith Mission International Miracle Assembly, off Housing Road, Oke Ila, Ado Ekiti, where the newest couple concretised their marital vows.
In quick succession, Pastor Osuntoki from Lagos State and his counterpart, Pastor Ibikunle, proclaimed the couple husband and wife, while the marriage certificate was handed over to them with the involvement of their respective families.
In their sermon, titled ‘The Duty of the Husband and Wife’, Pastor Adekunle and another clergy member, who quoted from the book of Col 3:12–19, charged the couple to give room for healthy communication and avoid the third person meddling in their affairs.
Adekunle stated: “Third parties should not be allowed into your relationship, and you should be counselling each other and always be spirit-filled. Be committed to God, and always pray together. And finally, have the spirit of forgiveness.
At the reception, which was held inside the precinct of Damlek Multipurpose Hall and Event Centre, also located along Housing Road, Oke Ila, Ado Ekiti, eminent Nigerians, business moguls, key players in the business industry, and members of the Oyo State Motor Dealers’ Association, among others, converged to celebrate with the celebrants and their families.
The master of the ceremony, Obaloluwa, popularly called KINGLOLU, who added colour to the event, thereafter invited the chairman of the occasion, Mr Osunronbi, to the high table, as the bride’s and groom’s parents also made their way to the podium.
Osunronbi advised the couple, especially the groom, to be very patient with his wife, stressing that peace and mutual understanding are key to a successful marriage.
The cutting of the cake was coordinated by Mrs. Osunronbi Titilola, which was followed by the toast of the bride and groom, while Oluwakemi, in a symbolic style, served her husband food with respect by kneeling.
During an interview with Apreel1 Events TV, the families and friends expressed their joy and fulfillment by appreciating the Almighty God for the success of the ceremony.
They also lauded all the dignitaries and guests present for their support, which culminated in the historic talk-of-the-town wedding.
Masala and his band treated everyone to a rendition of beautiful songs by just a DJ. Babtuns was not left out doing what he knows best, and the scintillating event was covered by Apreel1 Events TV.
