Thursday, 30 November, 2023 will continue to linger in the memories of the former Zonal Head, National archives, Ibadan, Mrs. Medinat Fumilayo Agunbiade, and her family for the grand reception given to her by the staff of the Ibadan National Archives as she was retiring from the federal civil service.
The event started by noon with the opening prayer said by Mrs. Ibikunle, followed by the welcome address delivered by the acting Zonal Head, Mrs. Adeoye Omolola Taiwo.
In her address, Adeoye welcomed all the dignitaries present at the occasion including the husband and family of the celebrant and lauded the celebrant for her good deed and prayed for her to live long to enjoy her retirement.
Thereafter, good will messages were said by the staff of Ibadan National Archives, celebrant’s family and friends who all lauded her discipline, humility, generousity and accommodating nature during her service and prayed for her to live long as she is going on retirement while her citation was read followed by the presentation of gifts from the office, family and friends.
Thereafter, the celebrant in her response, appreciated all staff of Ibadan National Archives for the trust they had in her when she was serving and also thanked them for their supports and the love bestowed on her to have a successful tenure while the toast was coordinated by the Master of Ceremony of the occasion, Mr. Kunle Bademosi.
It was followed by the vote of thanks and closing prayer said by the Head of Administration of Ibadan National Archives, Mr. Rasaq.
Speaking during an interview with Apreel1 Events TV, staff of the National Archives, Ibadan Office, husband, children, family members and friends lauded Mrs. Agunbiade, for her humility, generousity and discipline as well as her laudable performance when she was in service and charged her not to relent .
Agunbiade, Medinat Fumilayo, was born on the 23rd of November, 1963. She attended LSMB Primary School, Pakata, Ilorin, between 1970 and 1976 and proceeded to Ajase Ipo Comprehensive High School, Ilorin, Kwara State, from 1978 to 1983 and A levels at Kwara State Polytechnic, 1983 to 1985.
Thereafter, she proceeded to the University of Ilorin in Kwara State where she bagged her first degree between 1987 and 1990 and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) 2010.
During her NYSC, she won an award as the best Youth Corper in Oyo State, 1990 and also NYSC Presidential State Award. This laudable performance gave her an automatic employment as Archivist II in January, 1993 at the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture ( National Archives) Ilorin.
Later she was posted to the National Archives, Ibadan as the Zonal Director.
Medinat Fumilayo Agunbiade, was employed as Archivist II and rose through the ranks to Deputy Director in the Federal Civil Service where she retired.Pop
