The immediate past Special Adviser to the Oyo State government on Culture and Tourism and former Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, has congratulated Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde on the occasion of his 56th birthday anniversary.
While extolling the celebrant on his birthday anniversary, Hon. Ige, who is the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland and former council boss, described his former boss, Gov. Makinde, as an iconic administrator whose leadership style is service-oriented to the people in the state.
He added that Engr. Seyi Makinde is a passionate lover of the citizens of Oyo State whose preoccupation is to make the people great and prosperous.
According to Hon. Ige, “beyond doubt, what we are witnessing in Oyo State today is unprecedented considering the infrastructural development going on in the state under the watch of Gov. Makinde.
These have reflected on the welfare of the people, notably the Oyo State Civil Service. Governor Makinde has been consistent with the payment of salaries of workers and emoluments of pensioners and retirees in the state on or before the 25th of every month, and also with the approval of the payment of N25,000 wage awards and N15,000 for workers and retirees alike to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy.
Gov. Makinde has ensured the even distribution of massive infrastructure in all the geopolitical zones in the state and has been appointing people with track records into his government.”
All these are not only commendable but also well noted by well-meaning people in the state and beyond.” He said.
Hon. Ige, therefore, prayed to God to continue to give his amiable leader, Governor Makinde, the needed wisdom to rule and direct the state and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, where he is serving as the Deputy Chairman of the forum, to a safe harbour and wishes him many more years on earth with good health and peace of mind.
