Nigerian travel content creator Pelumi Nubi says she has arrived on the African continent as her ambitious solo drive from London to Lagos continues.
Over two months, her itinerary covers 17 countries over more than 7,000km (4,340 miles).
The 29-year-old has been sharing updates from her journey, saying in her latest message on Sunday:
“I won’t sugarcoat it—crossing into Morocco from Spain had me on edge initially,” she wrote.
She now plans to drive through the West Sahara desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally, Nigeria, reaching Lagos.
Ms Nubi believes she is the first black woman to attempt this journey. She said her goal is not breaking records but showing the world that “impossible” is just a word.
In one of her Instagram posts, the travel content creator revealed that at the age of 27, he has visited 77 countries.
She revealed 10 points that helped her visit 77 countries at 27 years old, including “making my mind up that travelling was accessible to me and doable. THE MIND IS SO POWERFUL and usually the first obstacle to overcome.
“Cutting back on material things. There is a running joke within my friendship group that I still have some outfits from my college days (that was over 10 years ago)—honestly, I only shop out of necessity.
“Passport privilege + Dual citizenship: with both my passports, I can travel to 100+ countries without paying for expensive tourist visas!”
