Submission of entries for the 2024 Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Challenge will end on Friday, March 1, 2024, the organisers disclosed.
The Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge is a platform to invite innovative ideas and solutions that go beyond technology but are related to the travel and tourism industry for review and adjudication by a pre-eminent panel of industry leaders.
The only pan-African platform dedicated to youth and start-ups in tourism is hosted by Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with UNWTO and BDO.
Adjudicators of the competition which was declared open for entries on November 1, 2023, will shortlist the Top Five on March 22, 2024.
The shortlisted project promoters will be informed on 29 March 29, while mentorship for elevator pitches, which will be held for 12 hours, will be held between April 10 and May 16, 2024.
The five-minute project presentation by shortlisted project promoters to be presented at the summit will be submitted on May 15, while the top three will be announced on May 31 at the Summit in Windhoek, Namibia.
Meanwhile, competitors are required to show a five-minute Minimum Viable Product (MVP) demo during the presentation.
Winners and Runners-up will be announced at the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) and Awards in Gaborone, Botswana in September 2024.
