Publicity Secretary of the Oodua Progressives Union (OPU) Worldwide, Chief Victor Mobolaji Adewale, has denied any form of affiliation with the Oodua Nation agitators who invaded the Oyo Government Secretariat on Saturday.
Adewale also cautioned media practitioners and members of the public against framing him as the deputy interim president of the self-acclaimed group aiming to establish the Oodua Republic.
The international businessman, who is also the founder of VMA Foundation, maintained the allegation that he threatened Governor Seyi Makinde and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a viral video is false and unfounded “as I did not issue any threat either through video or press statement.”
“I am aware that there is a video trending on social media with such a threat, but I am not the one in the video. The bloggers that publish the stories do not have their facts before going to the press. Thank God all those who spoke in the video did not hide their face.
“While I am confident that any attempt to tarnish my image or smear campaign against me will not stand, I
challenged those behind the frivolous publication against me to come out with evidence that I am the one in the video in circulation.
“The smear campaign against me will not stand. I cannot be denied the fact that I am a cultural enthusiast but not a bigot who is so desperate to the extent of engaging in an unlawful act against Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
“As the Publicity Secretary of the Oodua Progressives Union OPU Worldwide, our focus is to promote yoruba culture and tradition in foreign countries. and i want to reiterate that there is no iota of truth in the report linking me to the yoruba Nation agitators.”
