The Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the exceptional hospitality extended to her and her team during their recent visit to the state. They were there to participate in the highly anticipated Hike Ekiti State Mountain Tourism Carnival.
Minister Ade-John enthusiastically shared her delightful experience in the state, expressing her awe at the remarkable transformation at the renowned Ikogosi Warm Spring and the breathtaking wonders of the Abanijorin Rocks in Iyin-Ekiti.
She also commended Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, the Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, for his diligence and doggedness in selling the state to tourism professionals.
This is just as Lola Ade-John applauded the people of Ekiti for their warm and welcoming nature.
The Minister made the statement during the 10th Wonders of the World Nigeria Expo Special Edition, a prestigious event held at the National Museum, Onikan, Lagos. It is worth noting that Ekiti State secured the remarkable first position in the “Most Active Tourism State in Nigeria” category at the Expo.
Minister Ade John testified to Ekiti State’s commitment, as an entity and under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, to becoming Nigeria’s number one destination. The governor’s enthusiasm and passion for establishing the state as the country’s top tourism spot have been active and commendable.
Amb Ikechi Uko, President of Travellers Awards and Publisher of ATQ Magazine, also lauded Ekiti State’s remarkable performance in the tourism sector.
He stated that Ekiti, previously well-known in the industry, has risen to prominence in the past eight months. Furthermore, Governor Oyebanji’s continuous efforts have kept other states at the forefront of tourism development.
