No fewer than nine people including a mother and her three children were on Friday July 5th kidnapped by kidnappers along Akure-Ife-Ibadan road.
One of the victims who managed to escape said the incident occurred around 7:30pm when the kidnappers stopped a commercial bus and two private cars coming from Akure axis and abducted some of the passengers while some managed to escape.
The driver of one of the private cars who managed to escape said his boss’s wife Mrs. Mariam Dolapo Adesokan and his four children Master Faisol Olamijuwon Adesokan, Kanyinsola Adesokan and Master Hassan Fikayomi Adesokan marched into the bush by the abductors.
Though the details of other victims are yet to be ascertained, the driver explained that they were returning to Ibadan from Akure where they attended a family function
A family of the Adesokan who confirmed the abduction to our reporter said “The kidnappers are yet to reach out to us, my uncle who is the husband is not in the country as we speak and we have been trying to call him via Whatsapp but his line is not connecting”
REPORTERS AT LARGE recalls that Adesokan the Vice President (Western Zone) of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) and Chief Executive Officer of Caprisok Travel and Tours was kidnapped on the same route around March this year and was released after about 21 days in the kidnapper’s den.
A source at the Osun police command who prefers anonymity told our reporter that the case had not been officially reported when filling the report but promised to get back to us as soon as he has the details.
