A non-political group from Esanland, Esteemed Elites, has thrown their weight behind the candidature of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Barrister Dr. Asue Ighodalo, for the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election.
After holding a virtual meeting to assess the candidacies of the distinguished sons of Esanland representing the APC and PDP, the group unanimously declared its support for Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
Dr. Elizabeth Okoruwa Okojie (Dr. Ojugo), President and Coordinating Director of the Esan4Esan Global Support League, stated in a statement that “the group’s resolve to support Dr. Ighodalo stems from his clear, non-ambiguous manifestos, which align with our vision for Esanland’s resurgence.”
The group highlighted key pillars of Ighodalo’s campaign, including:
Quality Education: Dr. Ighodalo’s vision for enhancing education in Edo State aligns with our desire for a well-equipped future generation.
Maximum Security: His commitment to combating insecurity through technological innovation resonates deeply with our quest for peace and safety.
“Economic Growth: Dr. Ighodalo’s plans for technologically driven agriculture, provision of pipe-borne water, and development of road networks will propel Esanland toward unprecedented economic growth.
Job Creation: His promise to create job opportunities exceeding the working population is a beacon of hope for our youth.
Inclusive Governance: Dr. Ighodalo’s pledge to promote tourism, collaborate with indigenous people in the diaspora, and harness our natural resources for economic growth has won our hearts.
While endorsing Dr Ighodalo’s candidature, the group urged Senator Monday Okpebholo “to peacefully step down and return to his legislative role at the red chamber” and “appealed to all stakeholders to refrain from conflict, recognizing that both flagbearers are illustrious sons of the same ancestral parentage.”
The Coordinating Director of Esan4Esan Global Support League, Dr. Okoruwa Okojie, expressed optimism to “lead the teeming membership in congratulating Dr. Asue Ighodalo upon his enthronement as the incoming Governor of Edo State.”
