The Civil Society Organisations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiatives (CSCHEI) has commended President Bola Tinubu for his exemplary leadership in expanding the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) into six campuses, strategically located across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
In a release, CSCHEI’s Director-General, Kunle Yusuff, noted, “This bold initiative demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting regional development, ensuring national coverage, and enhancing the efficiency and smooth operations of the institution.”
He added, “By establishing campuses in Zaria (North-West), Yola (North-East), Ilorin (North-Central), Akure (South-West), Osubi (South-South), and Ebonyi (South-East), the President has taken a significant step towards bridging the gap in aviation education and training across the country.” (3400) Various registered Civil Society Organizations under the umbrella of CSCHEI treasure this institutional tactical step.
“This expansion will increase access to quality aviation education, foster regional inclusion, promote economic growth, and strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector. We applaud President Tinubu’s vision and leadership in driving this transformative project.
The group then urged all stakeholders, including the state government, local government, private sector, and other reputable civil society organisations in various regions, to support this initiative and work collaboratively to ensure its successful implementation functionally because this singular step completely aligns with the United Nations SDGs Global Agenda 2030.
The aviation industry aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Affordable and Clean Energy (Goal 7), Climate Action (Goal 13), Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8), and Capacity Building and Education (Goal 4).
