Not less than 23 people have died in a devastating car crash that happened Friday on the Kano-Maiduguri Road.
The accident, which happened under the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange Flyover, Hotoro, also left 48 people injured.
The accident involved a trailer carrying goods and passengers, which lost control due to overspeeding and crashed under the bridge.
As of this report’s filing, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is on the scene, rescuing the victims and rushing the injured to the hospital.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Umar Matazu, warned drivers against overloading trailers, emphasising the increased risk of fatal crashes.
