Late DCP Adejobi Memory Will Motivate Us

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Johnson Adenola has said the memory of the late Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Akinade Adejobi, would motivate officers and men of the command to strive for excellence and integrity.

The late Adejobi, an officer of the command, died on April 5 after a brief illness.

Adenola stated this during a Service of Songs organised by the command in honour of the deceased at the Command’s Headquarters، Eleyele, Ibadan on Thursday.

He described the late Adejobi as a devoted and gallant officer, who truly served the command, the Nigeria Police force and the country in general.

Adenola said that the deceased was a dedicated, hardworking and committed officer who was still working even while on sick bed to ensure crime reduction in the state.

“The Oyo State Police Command and Nigeria as a whole will greatly miss him because he still had many years of service ahead before his premature demise.

“He gave all his best to serve the force and nation and we are really going to miss him,” the CP said.

Oyo Police Commissioner messages other officers

Also speaking the former Oyo State Commissioner of Police, retired CP Ayodele Sonubi, called the officers to emulate the good charracter of the deceased.

In his remarks, the Executive Assistant to Gov.Seyi Makinde on security matters, retired CP Sunday Odunkoya, described the deceased as a seasoned officer and teacher who worked with the fear of God.

Odunkoya said that he knew late Adejobi over 15 years ago and the latter always worked tirelessly to achieve set goals and contributed immensely to reduction of crime in Oyo State.

Also speaking, Olayinka Joe-Fadile, Oyo State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) described late Adejobi as a problem solver.

According to him, there was hardly any nutty problem that someone brought before him that would not be resolved.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Princess Folasade Adeyemi, appreciated Oyo State Police Command for honouring the deceased.

Adeyemi described her late brother as an hero and that the entire family had accepted their his premature demise.

NAN reports that the remains of Adejobi would be laid to rest on Saturday in Orile-Owu, Osun State.
