Popular Nigerian gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, through Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, in a statement released on Friday, August 15, confirmed that his radio stations were ravaged by fire.
REPORTERS AT LARGE reports that a fire outbreak occurred at the Ayefele Music House, which houses his three radio stations in Ibadan, disrupting activities at the station.
In a statement signed by Samson Akindele, the station announced: “We are sad to inform the general public that the head office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge – Ibadan was razed by a devastating fire incident this evening, August 15, 2025.”
The management disclosed that the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM were badly burnt, including the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several pieces of equipment.
It explained: “All efforts to fight the fire, before the arrival of the professional fire fighters, with our in-house fire extinguishers proved abortive because of the strength of the inferno.”
According to the statement, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and the extent of the damage could not be immediately quantified.
The radio management also extended gratitude to Nigerians who assisted in fighting the fire outbreak.
“We heartily appreciate every good-spirited Nigerian who joined us in fighting the inferno. From the residents around our studio complex who were the first responders to passersby and the officials of the Oyo Fire Service, we appreciate everyone for their assistance during the emergency.”
