A former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has officially been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation ceremony of Oba Ladoja is currently live and ongoing with at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State capital city.
Oba Ladoja, dressed in white Agbada and beads around his neck, arrived in a white Limousine car at the Labosinde Compound earlier today accompanied by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Ibadan warlords, Oloroso, and immediate and extended members of his family.
The decoration was preceded by the traditional opening of a calabash.
Oba Ladoja later moved to the Osemeji shrine, directly opposite Labosinde Compound, for further traditional rites.
After the traditional rites at the Labosinde compound, the new monarch will proceed to the ancient Mapo Hall where he is expected to be crowned.
Among dignitaries expected to grace the ongoing 44th Olubadan coronation ceremony is the Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I; and Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, among other notable political figures, businessmen, and monarchs across the country.
