The multi-award-winning Nigerian Tribune Tourism Editor and the National PRO of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN), Mr Wale Olapade, and the Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo (ITTE) have received an Excellence Award for their outstanding contributions to tourism development in Oyo State.

The award was presented during the Governors’ Dinner and Tourism Excellence Awards at the second edition of the Oyo State International Tourism Summit, held on July 24, 2025, at the International Conference Centre in Ibadan.

Recognising Outstanding Contributions

Prince Wale Olapade was honoured with the Tourism Advocate Award. The award, which was personally presented by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, was in recognition of Mr Olapade’s dedication and a testament to his exceptional contribution to advancing tourism, heritage, and cultural development in Oyo State.

The ITTE was recognised for its impactful promotion of Destination Ibadan, consistent efforts in spotlighting the city’s tourism potential, and role in fostering domestic and international collaborations in the travel and hospitality sectors.

A Testament to Hard Work and Dedication

The Oguntoye Twins expressed their appreciation to the Oyo State Government, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and tourism stakeholders for the recognition they received. They dedicated the award to the people of Ibadan, reaffirming their commitment to showcasing the city’s rich history, diverse attractions, exceptional hospitality, and potential as a major tourism hub.
