THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, arrested 5 Councillors of Yola North Local Government council of Adamawa State.
The anti graft agency reported on his Facebook page that the suspects has been defrauding the government by not resigning from the previous position as a civil servant before joining politics to become Councillors in Yola North Local Council of Adamawa.
However, the lawmakers that there names is yet to be reveal were found to be in collecting double salary from the government as a councillor and civil servant.
“The suspect allegedly joined politics without resigning from the State Civil Service, thereby collecting double salaries as politicians and civil servants. Investigation continues and we shall serve you details later”
