The member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has reaffirmed his firm stance to pursue lawful remedies following an orchestrated smear campaign during a live Facebook broadcast by Oriyomi Hamzat.

He spoke while visiting the scene of the recent violent Molete Ibadan attack to evaluate the extent of destruction, comfort affected traders, and provide immediate relief to victims.

Addressing traders beneath the Molete bridge, the federal lawmaker condemned the recent outbreak of Oyo state political violence as a direct threat to national security and public order. He stressed that Oyo state remains a civilized, peaceful society governed by the rule of law rather than a jungle where lawlessness prevails.

Legal Ultimatum Following Smear Campaign Against Olajide Odidiomo

Hon. Olajide Odidiomo emphasized that his 72-hour ultimatum to the instigators of the attack remains fully active. He demanded that those involved retract their false statements, remove all defamatory online videos, and publish an unreserved public apology across major national dailies. Failure to comply, he warned, will result in immediate legal action, as he will not allow political actors to destroy his hard-earned reputation.

Restitution for Victims of the Violent Molete Ibadan Attack

Walking through the affected market area, the lawmaker noted that six severely impacted traders whose livelihoods were destroyed have been formally identified. He promised full restitution for all damaged goods, destroyed vehicles, and lost business assets.

Hon. Olajide Odidiomo, who also stands as the Oyo South senatorial candidate for the Allied Peoples’ Movement in the forthcoming 2027 general election, pledged additional support. He promised to present a brand-new motorcycle to a commercial rider who was brutally assaulted and had his motorcycle stolen during the assault. He reassured the entire trading community that his office will take firm steps to prevent innocent citizens from suffering such violence ever again.

Community Outreach Across Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West

During his assessment tour, the federal lawmaker also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Lamidi Adedibu, whose household and supporters were targeted during the violence. He offered his strong solidarity, personal support, and deep condolences to the family during this trial.

Hon. Olajide Odidiomo revealed that several individuals sustained life-threatening injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at various medical facilities across Ibadan. He mourned those who tragically lost their lives during the unprovoked mayhem and announced that he will personally settle all medical bills for every hospitalized victim, ensuring affected families receive quality healthcare without financial burden.

Call for Peace, Justice in Oyo State

Reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the peace, welfare, and security of his constituents across Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West and the broader Oyo South senatorial district, the lawmaker urged security agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation. He called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of every perpetrator and sponsor behind the chaos.

Closing his address, Hon. Olajide Odidiomo urged all residents to remain calm, patient, and law-abiding. He stressed that no amount of political intimidation, calculated violence, or false media campaigns will disrupt the peaceful coexistence, democratic stability, and continuous progress of Oyo State.
