EKITI State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, allegedly escaped plots to assassinate him by the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the party.
The allegation was reported by the Special Assistant to the governor on Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, who posted on his twitter hadle, @OlayinkaLere thus: “Gov Fayose, a few minutes ago escaped plot to assassinate him by Fayemi and his APC. He is currently receiving treatment at govt house clinic after he was hit by teargas canister fired by the policemen. The armed policeme still laying siege at the Govt House’.
Fayose had earlier tweeted that there was heavy shooting in front of Ekiti Govt house by armed policemen and that the entrance to Ekiti Govt House was blocked by gun wielding mobile policemen.
Meanwhile, a former Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, reacting to the incident posted on his twitter handle, @realFFK: “Using ur police to lay siege to Govt. House, shooting bullets in the air and attempting to assasinate @GovAyoFayose will not result in ur candidate winning the election on Saturday. The sordid level that Buhari has degenerated to just win the Ekiti State election is barbaric.”
