Hoodlums Attack Businessman, Kidnap Children

A portharcourt based businessman, Mr Adesola Ajani, was reportedly attacked by some hoodlums in rumuokoro area of Portharcourt.

While recounting his ordeal, Ajani who is from a community in Iwajowa local government of Oyo State said he took refuge in portharcourt in 2016 because he does not want his sons(twins) to take part in the yearly traditional rites of the community.

According to him, the rite is done for every first son of the community, and whoever does not comply would be dealt with.

He described the rites as being barbaric and cruel some.

He said he has been living in the part of portharcourt peacefully until recently when he was attacked.

He managed to escape sustaining injuries, but his family was taken away.

He described the hoodlums as the youths of his community who serve as the judicial arm of the initiates. How they managed to get him is still a mystery.

The hoodlums are still at large with his wife and sons, but he is optimistic that they would have been taken back to his community.
