Even after on month of it’s launching, the security outfit of the Southwest has continued to trend, generating reactions, both for and against.
Launched January 9, 2020 by the Southwest Governors to further protect the lives and property of the people in the region, Operation Amotekun has enjoyed the support of a good number of the authorities and people of the Southwest region of Nigeria, and even beyond.
Suffice it to say that the prospect in the security outfit, or further attacks on the initiative less to the launching of the Arewa version of Operation Amotekun, codenamed Shege ka Fasa.
The Southeast governors have also continued to strategies for the launching of the Ndigbo’s version of Operation Amotekun.
It could be said that the Inspector General of Police is fully in support of Operation Amotekun, and other versions of it, as it is in line with his campaign for community policing.
