The identities of the three Greenfield University students in Kaduna who were slain in captivity by bandits have been revealed.
PM News reports that one of the murdered students is Abubakar Sadiq Yusuf Sanga, the son of Malam Yusuf Mu’azu, a director of the state’s ministry of works and a former chairman of Jemaa local government area.
Sadiq, in line with Islamic burial rites, was laid to rest on Friday, April 23, the same day he was killed.
The other two victims are Dorathy Yohanna and Precious Nwakacha (a native of Nnewi in Anambra state).
Confirming the tragedy on Friday, Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, revealed that the bodies of the victims were found in Kwanan Bature village, which is close to the institution.
Aruwan said that with the help of the force commander, Operation Thunder Strike, Lt. Col. MH Abdullahi, the remains of the students were taken to a mortuary.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar had reacted to the recent killing of the students.
The former vice president says he is heartbroken following the killing and wondered how long the nation would continue to lose precious souls. He said: “Heartbreaking to learn of the killing of 3 of the abducted students of Greenfield University, Kaduna.
How long shall we continue to lose precious souls? May their families and friends be comforted. It is time states are granted constitutional roles in the management of security.”

Earlier, the bandits behind the abduction of the students had reportedly contacted their parents and demanded a collective ransom of N800 million.
