Titan Farms, a privately own rice production farm in Nigeria celebrated its first anniversary on Tuesday, in Ibadan. The event was graced by traditional rulers, politicians and other eminent personalities and dignitaries from all walks of life.

The dignitaries included the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji; Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Aseyin of Iseyin Iba Dr, Abdul Ganiy Adekunle and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.

Others included Hon Shina Abiola Peller, Lawmaker representing iseyin Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola at the lower chamber of the National Assembly and Mrs Bolanle Sarumi Special Adviser to Gov Makinde on Diaspora matters, among others.

In his welcome adress, the Chief Executive Officer of Titan Farms, Aare Gbenga Eyiolawi said the essence of the event is to appreciate God and the farms’ numerous customers who have ensures its sustainability in the business.

He maintained that local production of rice is tasking but he is optimistic that there will be a breakthrough as he also maintained the plans by the farm to expand and Increase production.

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero in his speech charged Nigerian youths and the Federal Government to support the local food production to put an end to food Importations in the country.

Bayero who was a special guest at the event held at Jogor Centre Ibadan lauded Aare Eyiolawi for his giant strides in the industry and urged the youth to emulates him to ensure the country has sufficient food to feed the masses in the country.

“This program is so important that’s why all of us in the Northern part of the Country is presently here to give our collective supports to the young CEO, who has done a lot in his capacity to ensure that the country is free from importing foods stuff from other countries.”

He said, the youths should key into this laudable project, stressing that “they need to take a cue from Gbenga who is a youth, they should engage in local food production through agricbusiness, this will make our country a food Independent nation, I mean, the process will put our nation on the food production list, and with that, there will be food for us all in abundant.

“Our government should look and make the area of local food production their priority like they have promised, this will produce more job opportunities for our youths, as well produce more food for the entire citizens of the country and it will be a betterment for us all.”

In his remarks at the event, the Ooni of Ife His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi who was ably represented by Oba Kemade Elugbaju called for supports of traditional rulers towards ensuring that local food production is a sustainable one.

He said, some of our youths are so serious and we have to support them to thrive in their legitimate businesses, we have to give them all the support they needed to succeed in their businesses.

Also in his contributions at the event, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar said the importance of local food production cannot be overemphasized in the country.

He also called for traditional rulers to support Titan Farms to ensure success in his contribution to the development of the country, stressing that his contributions have provided job opportunities for the youths and as well providing food for the masses.
