Nollywood Star, Olaiya Igwe Revealed How He Went Through Stone Kidney Operation

Nollywood star, Ebun Oloyede popularly called Olaiya Igwe, has revealed how he sustained the Stone kidney operation to REPORTERS AT LARGE.

According to the Abeokuta-born thespian, in an interview on Tuesday, 28 September 2021, he was in Osogbo celebrating his birthday organised for him by the present Commissioner of Police, Osun State, Wale Olokode, when he received a phone call from his medical doctor who is a consultant at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, but has his own hospital, K K Specialist Hospital, Prof. Shittu.

The following day he left Osogbo for Ibadan to carry out the operation. While he was coming he has already informed his wife and children and his colleague in the theatre industry, Sokoti, to meet him in the hospital.

At the hospital, he was attended to and asked to wear the theatre gown. But on the way to the theatre room, he told Sokoti to hug him and told him that it might be the last time he will see him alive.

The Nollywood Star, Sokoti could however not take this and burst into tears.

In the theatre room, the Nollywood Star, Ebun Oloyede, aka Olaiya Igwe was attended to by seven surgeons including, Prof. Shittu.

Olaiya disclosed that he died and came back to life after three and half hours.
