A 300 level med rehab student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, simply identified as Miss Chioma, was among those shot dead by gunmen in Nnewi, on Sunday afternoon.
It was gathered that she was shot on the thigh while she was recording the activities of the gunmen who caused havoc in the industrial city of the state, with her phone.
According to a source, she was rushed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, for urgent treatment, but no attention was given to her, due to the ongoing Doctors strike.
“Chioma bled to death while waiting,” the source added.
Meanwhile, REPORTERS AT LARGE recently reported that Dr Chike Akunyili, widower of the late Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Dora Akunyili, has been killed by gunmen at Nkpor, in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Seven other persons were also killed in the incident, yet-to-be-confirmed reports allege. The incident reportedly happened on the evening of Monday, September 27, 2021.
