Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Sunday, October 3, claimed that some persons are plotting to assassinate him.
Ortom made this allegation at the Sesugh Maria Pilgrimage Center Ayati, Gwer East local government area of the state, adding that he remains committed to the service of his people despite threats.
The Benue State Governor along with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, other top government functionaries as well as traditional leaders and worshippers have converged on the sesugh Maria pilgrimage centre Ayati to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the holy centre which was established on October 2nd 2017.
Governor Ortom equally appreciated the Catholic diocese’s sustained support to its countless displaced persons and faulted the Federal Government’s negligence of the same.
Balloons were released into the sky as an agreement that peace be restored to the troubled community so the State’s countless displaced persons can return to their ancestral homes.
