A middle-aged man, Lateef Buhari of Road 7, Ire Akari, Idi-Oya, Ibadan, has called on the police to save his soul and prevail on some cabals within the community who are desperate to spoil his name for reasons known only to them.
Buhari, while speaking with journalists, disclosed that if such is not stopped, he will institute legal action against those who are behind the wrong allegations that he slept with a woman in the community.
I specifically told them to bring out the woman with whom I was alleged to have fornicated, which they failed to do. The woman has since left the community to avoid confrontation with me, and that shows that it was just malicious damage against my name, but I leave them to God, the ultimate judge.
“I don’t know what I did to deserve these wrong allegations despite all my efforts to develop the community when I was the chairman of the community.”
“I am sure they are only jealous of my numerous achievements, and instead of them appreciating me, they were all out to drag my name in the mud, but I know very well that God will vindicate me because I use all that I have to serve the community.
Buhari, however, thanked some leaders within the community who waded into the matter and pleaded with him to be calm and let the matter be resolved in the interest of peace and harmony.
He also pledges his total commitment to work tirelessly to develop the community despite the frequent humiliation by the cabals.
“I will continue to work for the progress of the community and will not be restricted by the people who are trying to pull me down.”
