The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwakwanso has asked the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to collapse his structure into Kwakwanso’s.

The Kwakwanso PCC’s Coordinator, South-South, Chief Precious Elekimah, said that with Festus Keyamo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) PCC, recently filing a case against Atiku, the bubble on the PDP PCC will burst in a matter of days.

Elekimah said the country currently requires a president without baggage and with the capacity to hit the ground running, which his party’s candidate represents.

He claimed that Kwakwanso is without blemish and that he remains the person with the capacity to address the nation’s many challenges.

He said: “Nigeria needs a leader, who will be able to, within a year, balance the exchange rate, because a country’s exchange rate is determined by its capacity to produce and sell.

“That is what our candidate will do, along with other measures to address existing challenges. To be candid, this country requires an urgent intervention, and that is where our candidate comes in”

The NNPP PCC member said there have been overtures from members of the PDP PCC, adding that about 13 members attended their meeting on Saturday.

Elekimah said: “We had a meeting on Saturday and about 13 coordinators from the PDP PCC attended.
“They expressed their fears that their efforts may be in vain in view of the weighty allegations against their candidate.

“We have assured them that we will accommodate them in the campaign structure and also in government when we win.

“We also told that even their principal will be adequately taken care of. But what we will not do is to tamper with any legal issues.

“We will not be an umbrella for the cover up of crimes. That is what we will not do,” he said.

Elekimah, who expressed optimism that Kwakwanso will win, said, “We already know the result of this election. The result is not far away. It is at the fingertips of everybody what the result of the election will be.

He was hopeful that his party’s candidate would win on the first ballot, stating that there was an existing accord with the South-South to support Kwakwanso ‘s northern base to ensure a recurrence of President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in 2015.

Keyamo sued Atiku last week before the Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding, among other things, that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and related agencies arrest and prosecute Atiku over allegations of corruption made against him by his former aide, Michael Achimugu.
