Damilola Adeparusi, commonly known as Chef Dammy from Nigeria, has announced plans to complete another 150-hour cooking marathon to surpass Hilda Baci’s previous record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

This was announced by Chef Dammy, who had finished a 120-hour cooking marathon on Wednesday 14, in a message posted on her Twitter account on Saturday. She began her 120-hour cooking marathon in Oye Local Government Area in Ekiti State on Friday, June 9.

She claimed that the completed 120-hour marathon cook was not entered into the Guinness World Records database and that she planned to start another 150-hour cook-a-Thon, which will be.

The statement partly read, “I know there have been many speculations about me not registering this just-concluded cooking, but my team and I have decided to embark on this new challenge next month.

“After the support I have received from fans, well-wishers, and many highly notable individuals in society. I, Adeparusi Damilola, popularly known as Chef Dammy, and my team have decided to hold another cook-a-thon programme next month.

“This time, it will be held for a 150-hour and duly registered with Guinness World Records. Chef Dammy is coming back!”

Chef Dammy, speaking smoking about her just-concluded 120-hour cook-a-thon, told BBC News Yoruba that she did not participate in the cook-a-thon because she wanted to be a Guinness World Records holder for the longest hours spent cooking by an individual or compete with Hilda Baci, who cooked on a stretch for 100 hours.

The University of Oye-Ekiti student added that she participated in the cook-a-thon because she enjoys cooking and wants others to see a young girl cook.

She said in the interview, “About the Guinness Book of Record or competing with Hilda Baci, I only did the cook-a-thon because I love cooking. I didn’t do the 120 hours cook-a-thon for Guinness World Records to know me, I only did it for people that will wants to watch a little girl cooking.”

Hilda Baci, who had previously held the record of the longest cooking marathon by one individual with 87 hours and 45 minutes, was officially announced by GWR on Tuesday as the new holder with 93 hours and 11 minutes.
