In the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions throughout the three-day championships, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Mauritius, Cameroon, South Africa, Kenya, and the Ivory Coast participated.

Nigeria defeated Egypt to become Africa’s new para table tennis champion with 12 gold medals. By dominating the singles competition and winning the majority of the tickets to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Nigerians established themselves as the new heavyweights in the continent’s para table tennis.

Egypt earned ten medals overall, losing its supremacy to Nigeria, which won 12 gold medals.

Khaled El-Salhy, president of the African Table Tennis Federation, praised all of the competing teams and hailed the Egyptian Table Tennis Federation’s facilities and hospitality for making the tournament a success.

“I am so happy that we have improved participation this year, especially with the number of countries featured in this year’s tournament. The players gave a good account of themselves; they showed their quality judging from the matches. I congratulate the ETTF and the government of Egypt for being good hosts and I hope our players will make the continent proud.”
