The general coordinator and convener of the Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo, has lauded the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, over the appointment of Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre as the Director-General of the Bureau of Tourism Development.

In the group’s congratulatory message signed and released in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, October 27, it was commended by Governor Oyebanji that the appointment follows a “due and logical process as a need to enhance the tourism potentialities for economic growth and development.”

He commended Governor Oyebanji for creating the Bureau of Tourism from the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism as a distinctive legal entity bereft of red tape and bureaucratic limitations that have undermined the sector’s growth and development in the country.”

“The Governor has shown the world that his creative and developmental mindset is set to change the narrative of Ekiti tourism for wider patronage and global consumption—the appointment of Amb. Wale Ojo Lanre is very strategic in championing Ekiti as an international tourism hub, and it is promising to position tourism as a vital economic sector with the consciousness of a dedicated Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.

He described the newly appointed DG as “an industrious son of Ekiti, whose tourism escapades have mapped out Nigeria as a great global hub for global recognition in 87 countries.
