Not less than 17 of Australia’s world-class universities are coming to Lagos to showcase to Nigerian students the opportunities to choose one of the world’s most attractive study destinations, Australia.
Between 9a.m. and 4p.m. on November 4 at the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, prospective Nigerian students will be able to immerse themselves in all the benefits of an Australian education.
According to a release by the Commission’s Public Diplomacy Officer, Adeotito Oteju, “from its internationally renowned universities and track record of proven innovation to its beautiful natural surroundings, enviable quality of life, and welcoming culture, Australia really is an ideal location for international students.
The fair, hosted by the Australian High Commission in Abuja, is the only education event in Nigeria this year completely dedicated to helping attendees start their personal ‘Study in Australia’ journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives of Australian institutions, student agents, and Nigerian alumni of Australian universities to get all the information they need to do so, including the application process, the courses available, work while studying opportunities, and what life is like in Australia.
Acting Australian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms Leann Johnston said she was pleased that this would be the first event of its kind in several years for prospective students to familiarise themselves with all the opportunities Australia holds:
“Now that we have moved beyond the era of global border closures caused by the COVID pandemic, there has never been a better time to study in Australia.”
“Many Nigerians have received the benefits of an Australian education in the past and are now back in Nigeria as leaders in business, the public sector, and civil society. I hope this event will lead to many more of you following in their footsteps soon.”
The Commission called on interested participants to register for the event on its website.
