Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), a member of the House of Representatives, has announced plans to empower over 1,000 households in his constituency through the Household Uplifting Programme (HUP). This was part of his plans to alleviate poverty and improve the living standard of his constituents.
Hon. Olajide, while announcing the initiative in a statement made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, said the Household Uplifting Programme is designed to provide succour to poor and vulnerable households in his constituency.
According to Odidiomo, the programme is designed to provide a safety net for the most vulnerable members of society, including widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities, while over one thousand households in the Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo State will receive a monthly stipend as part of the Household Uplifting Programme,
Hon. Olajide, who represents the Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo State while expressing his commitment to the welfare of his constituents said, “As a representative of the people, he must ensure that members of the constituency benefit from programmes designed to improve their lives.
He said the Household Uplifting Programme which is intended to help beneficiaries meet their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and healthcare is a vital initiative that will help alleviate poverty and improve the living standards of his people.
Hon. Olajide urged his constituents to take advantage of the programme, describing it as a unique opportunity to access financial support. He urged all eligible households to come forward and register for the programme.”
The empowerment programme will commence soon with registration and verification of beneficiaries in the constituency, Odidiomo noted.
