Saturday, October 26, will be a day to be remembered for a long time in Ilesa, Osun State. All roads leading to Ayeso, Transformer bus stop, were jam-packed with monarchs, business stakeholders, celebrities, and the crème de la crème of society gathered to support a socialite, industrialist, and pillar of entertainment in Nigeria, Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup, who declared his intention for the stool of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.

The declaration started in Osogbo, and sophisticated cars moved in a convoy to Ilesa.

On reaching the Ilesa roundabout, a large crowd of indigenous people gathered to welcome Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup, singing joyful songs and praying to God to grant his desire to be the next occupant of the revered throne of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.

Speaking in an interview with REPORTERS AT LARGE, some of the elders and people of Ilesa said they were happy to be part of Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup’s declaration for the stool of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.

Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup is a socialite and has contributed a lot to the entertainment industry in Nigeria. He is the kind of Prince that the people of Ilesa want as Owa Obokun of Ijesaland at this time, as we believe that he will greatly contribute to the development of Ijesaland,” they all said.

Dignitaries present at Prince Ademuyiwa Haaztrup’s declaration include monarchs, the Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaja Sarata Aduke Konibaje, celebrities, musicians, and the Supreme Elders Forum and Zenith Elders Forum, both in Ikeja, Lagos.

Indeed, Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup’s declaration for the stool of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland will undoubtedly continue to linger in the memories of the people of Ilesa.

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland stool became vacant following the death of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran on Thursday, September 20, 2024.

Born on 13 October 1937, the late monarch ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, succeeding Oba Peter Adeniran Olatunji Agunlejika II (1912-1982) as the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland. He spent 42 years on the throne until his demise.

We strongly believe in the Lord that has started the journey to the Palace and he will be there for him in every step he takes because God chose him. He is a peaceful humble and caring man that is ready to listen to both young and old people of Ilesha. Almighty God will continue to grant him all his heart ♥ desires, in Jesus name. Amen.
