The Accord Party Chairman in Osun State, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, has instructed party leadership across the state to deploy immediately to designated collation centres as results trickle in from the Osun governorship election.
Addressing party stakeholders shortly after polling concluded on Saturday, August 15, 2026, Akande declared that proactive vigilance is vital to safeguard ballots cast for Governor Ademola Adeleke and prevent any potential electoral malpractice during the vote collation process.
Protecting the Mandate Following Osun Governorship Election Polling
Akande emphasised that the directive became imperative to secure what he described as an “overwhelming victory” established at individual polling units across the state’s thirty Local Government Areas.
According to the Akande, political leaders must show active presence on the ground to guarantee that every single vote recorded at the grassroots reflects in the final tally sheets verified by election officials.
It is time to show leadership and protect the mandate of our people. It is our collective duty to protect the votes freely cast by the good people of Osun State,” Akande declared in his official statement.
Maintaining Peace and Vigilance During Vote Collation Process
Calling for absolute order, the Party Chairman stressed that political vigilance must go hand in hand with civil conduct. He reminded supporters that protecting democratic choices requires staying peaceful, organised, and attentive throughout every stage of the vote collation process.
“We must remain vigilant, peaceful and committed throughout the collation process. The victory we have secured is not merely a victory for Accord or for Governor Ademola Adeleke; it is a victory for the good people of Osun State who have spoken clearly through their votes,” he added.
Accord Party Chairman Orders for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Mandate Protection
Pastor Akande urged political operatives and local executives not to leave any room for complacency while results move from ward levels to local government centers. He reiterated that safeguarding the ballot box remains an urgent task until the electoral umpire officially concludes counting.
I therefore urge all our leaders across the state to proceed immediately to the designated collation centres and ensure that the mandate of the people is protected,” Akande said.
Akande concluded by reassuring voters across Osun State that the party leadership expects the mandate freely renewed for Governor Ademola Adeleke to be fully upheld through transparent collation procedures.
