The Action Alliance (AA) Governorship Candidate and former labour leader in Oyo State, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo, has promised to greatly improve teachers’ welfare through full implementation of minimum wage for workers, regular payment of running cost to public secondary schools for procurement of instructional materials and some other organised programs.
He described teachers as important builders of the nation, saying their contribution to the development of Nigeria cannot be overemphasised.

Titilola-Sodo, in a statement on Monday through his Media Team, to mark this year’s Teachers’ Day, said teachers occupy a spectular place in society due to roles being played in shaping the minds, character and future of young Nigerians.
He lauded teachers for their commitment to the profession despite the challenges confronting the education sector, saying their efforts often go beyond what is seen in the four walls of classroom.

According to the experienced labour leader, he emphasised on recognising the challenges teachers are facing in the state, vowing to continue from where he stopped if elected to serve as the governor of the state.
The governorship hopeful said his contributions in the state include; the relieve of backlogged salaries and pensions, prioritising workers’ welfare as well as giving listening ears to education stakeholders, aimed at improving the learning environment for pupils and students.
Sodo congratulated teachers on the occasion, assuring them that education would remain a priority in his public service, while calling for greater support for teachers and sustained investment in the sector.
The legal luminary said every child of nobody, irrespective of family background, should have the opportunity to receive quality education and build a better future.
