While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Olagoke, a former Dean of the School of Engineering, The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, stated that the library’s importance is in storage, retrieval, and research. This will enhance the reading culture and allow readers to tap into the accumulated knowledge and wealth of experience of Authors, Achievers, and Professionals from various disciplines.

Prof. Olagoke added that the reintroduction of libraries is vital in society and will enable the youth to engage meaningfully. He cited how he met his wife and life partner in a library at Mapo, Ibadan, in 1973. The academician per excellence noted that conventional libraries were structured according to the process lines of Manual Automation and Computer-Aided Design Concepts.
