The Baale expressed that ” the unarmed protesters are aggrieved about the brutalities and unethical behaviors of some of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force of which the government has promised justice to the families of the affected.”

During the interactive session, Ogungbesan said, “The attack on the unarmed protesters at Lekki Toll Gate that happened on Monday claiming lives of the citizens and destroying properties has painted the face of the country red.

“The peaceful coexistence of Nigeria remains in the hands of the citizens; it is time we give peace a chance to reign. It is to be noted that as far as the government is concerned the agitations of the youths are of great concerns to those in the realms of affairs.

He also noted that ” Those persons that lost their lives in the recent Lekki Massacre are the true heroes in the history of post colonial Nigerian society.

“Their names are forever immortalized in the history of the country as heroes because they died in the defence of freedom, hope and peace. On the behalf of Ora Kingdom, I commiserate with the families of the victims and we pray God to grant them strength to bear the pains and give peace to the departed”

He also called on the youths to “ease fire because the tensions mount across the country have partially shut down the activities, fueling unhealthy tensions which can result to uncontrollable future occurrences.

“I also apologise to the youths to allow the government to bring the best out of their agitations and protests against every form of oppression they may have experienced or experiencing. It is time to give room for peace”, he concluded.”
