The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, will be on the threshold of history on 7 November 2020 by peacefully invading and setting his feet on the soil of Imesi Ekiti as the town celebrates the Odun Ade Festival.

Oba Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, described as a foremost proactive traditional ruler, will invade Imesi Ekiti to peacefully resolve the 400-year-old tiff between Ewi-In-Council and Imesi as a town.

This year’s festival, which is tagged the festival of reconciliation, is deliberately tagged so because the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, the first Ewi to visit Imesi since 400 years ago (or enter Imesi in peacetime), will be coming to grace the occasion.

Oba Olatunji said that preparations for his arrival are well underway. The hunters prepare the traditional boom of guns and war dance to usher in Ewi as a father and harbinger of peace, prosperity, and bloom.

The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, who would be home to Imesi people during this year’s ODUN ADE festival, would be joined by the Onisan of Isan, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon and the Chairman of the traditional rulers council of Ekiti. The Owa Ajero, Oba Joseph Adewole, the Oluyin of Iyin Oba Adeniyi Ajakaye and numerous Traditional Rulers from far and near will be at Imesi to celebrate Odun Ade with HRM The Onimesi of Imesi, Oba Festus Olatunji Olatunde, Olaibiyemi 11.
